Answering and Cross Petitions
Your spouse has the right to deny your allegations in writing, or to admit some and deny others. This is an area that seems straight forward but is actually a minefield and one is well advised to seek legal help to make an answer.
Even is your spouse agrees, they may file a cross petition. This is done in case you get cold feet during the process, just because you choose to back out does not mean that the divorce is over, if your spouse filed a cross petition the divorce is still going on.
What if my spouse denies under oath that the marriage is iretreivable broken. I have seen this done twice. It drags out the divorce, but the end is always the same.
