Modifying Support

As always the Child Support Guidelines established by the Missouri Supreme Court govern child support matters.

Rule. Chart.

In general there must be a substantial and continuing change of circumstances that has occurred since the last order. This can be an increase / decrease in income by either father or mother, or an increase in the needs of the child.

An additional child born to the father will not be considered as a grounds to reduce support, until the mother seeks an increase. There is logic to this but it is complicated and needs a face to face conversation to give it its depth.

In general the guidelines under the “Divorce Issues” button on the home page lay out the “Support” issue more thoroughly.
